Cooking with oranges
There are endless ways to use seasonal produce to create delicious, easy and unique meals.
As we are in winter, there is an abundance of citrus in season, especially oranges. We love cooking with oranges in both sweet and savoury recipes as they can be prepared in a number of different ways.
We know there are a wide variety of oranges available so we want to make it a little easier for you next time you’re thinking of cooking with them. Here are our top three favourite orange varieties:
- Valencia: This type of orange is quite sweet, with very few pips, and is best used when juicing
- Blood oranges: The skin on this variety is a mixture of orange and red and they are very juicy with a rich and sweet, but mildly tart flavour
- Seville oranges: These are very bitter and are the ideal ones to use when cooking, especially in marmalade
